bishan herbs garden

ok, i'm not ur gardening type or wat but was forced to accompany dad to the opening ceremony of the herbs garden he volunteered at @ bishan park ;p

unexpected guest! ann kok ;p

that part of the park was pretty unfamiliar to me. nvr been there so b4 i went there i always thot we were going to where the fishing pond was. there is a spa n studio for pilates etc near the car park and on the way to the herb garden (which is so far in ard 1 to 2 km), there is a dog run which i tink out pups will love but they are too violent to mix with the other pups, how? ;p

dad popping his head out when he saw me taking picz :p

the herb garden turned out to be bigger n more organised than i hv thot. there is even a mini farm (for plants) just beside it for persumably the citizens in that area to plant watever they wanted, there's vege, fruits etc..

mm goh's wife's arrival n dada behind her

since dad was kinda busy, i just entertained myself taking picz n eventually juz sitting on the grass slope to wait for the arrival of the vip, who was mm goh's wife. tink this was not widely publicised coz she requested the whole affair to be toned down.

cozy corner at the little vege farm

as usual vip arrives, lion dance starts, shakes hand, take picz, cut ribbon, enters park for tour, makan... wanted to go in to take picz but they were doing crowd control n though i had the "helper" tag pinned on me, they refused to let me in but i managed to sneak in via the connector fr the other garden anyway ;p..

cute pup who was "abandoned" outside the garden coz no pets allowed

as usual, took lotsa picz for dad n lotsa random picz of flowers (instead of herbs which i cant differentiate at all n some were those which we used to "fry" when we were playing cooking games when we were young ;p) managed to take a few nice "pro" shots :P

free healthy drink stall

weather damn hot so drank 2 bottles of soya bean, 1 cup of lime, 3 tiny bowls of dessert, 1 cup of chin chow and didnt go toilet for 6hrs at all!! actually coz the park toilets were all the way at the carpark whereas i refused to go to the stinky portable toilets! luckily nvr get stomachache after breakfast n the buffet ;p

"pro shot" # 1

"pro shot" # 2

was getting bored after awhile coz it was really hot n really had nothing to do. was contemplating whether to take a bus down to j8 coz the bus stop was really near. even went over to play with the swings while waiting for dad. even had to help to clear things up later on coz the actual volunteers vanished into thin air. see lah, forced to wake up early on sat (my usual sleep until noon day) and outdoors on a xtremely hot day, poor me~~~

mid-autumn

ok, didnt do anything on the actual day coz wkday and mum n dad not feeling well so didnt go out as planned. h/r we did celebrate slightly earlier a few wks back @ clarke quay.

the whole gang in front of the under water world display

they had some lantern displays outside central so thot of bringing mum & dad to central for dinner then can just pop outside to look at the display. alas~ heavy downpour when it approached nite fall so by the time we got there, it was raining neko & inu (cats & dogs)...

chang-er

my bros n their gf tagged along so became a family gathering. dinner @ waraku again though i told them not veri nice but they were tricked by the display outside the restaurant ;p only consolation was that the restaurant had a nice view facing clarke quay opposite.

didnt have time to shop (also not much to shop except for jap snack shop in basement :P) pop outdoors to see the display. actually not many large scale displays, only 5 main ones, 3 outside central other 2 near the bridge but there were loads of pple there to take picz esp the tourist though it was raining on off. a few stalls but still felt not lively enough, thot they should extend the scale of the lantern displays and activities to liven up the mid-autumn spirit.

performance imported fr china

but did felt nice to just wonder ard aimlessly n take picz on a sunday evening with family :)... one wierd thing though, the performance started ard 10pm which was pretty late and they were blasting music so u can imagine if u were staying in the nearby hotels, u might actually hear it. so wierd rite? all the shops in central were already close and reminder, it was sunday nite so pple r rushing home to prepare for work/school the next day??

Gatherings

had a couple of gatherings over the past week with jc and sec class mates. nice catching up with everyone!

97C05

decided to organise a class gathering after being lazy for so long n coz its our 10th yr anniversary of knowing one another fr jc! so old~~~ liao!! in the end half the class could make it so not too bad lah ;p

met up with rachel on sun after my jap to catch a choir performance by jcs @ jubilee, raffles hotel. not too boring in the end coz we had fun making fun of people on the stage :P

the gang @ waraku

aft which we walked all the way to clarke quay with no idea where central was at all. luckily we accidentally found it after coming out of one of the underpasses. were there way too early, wanted to explore but disappointed to find only partial of the shops opened so hang round for a snack and buying jap snacks fr the jap supermarket in the basement.

chicken kaminabe

dinner was at waraku jap restaurant (realised there were a lot of other nicer looking jap restaurants on the same floor) food so so, side dishes way too limited and ex compared to ajitei whose food tasted nicer some more!! only thing i liked was the arrangement of the restaurant which section off our tables in a corner all to ourselves lah. abit diff to chat up in the restaurant coz long table so headed off to coffee club for coffee and dessert!

cycy with her huge bowl of ramen!

staff at coffee club not bad coz they actually shifted the chairs and tables to section off one corner to fit the 12 of us. long time since i sat down for coffee for chit chat. had fun chatting on stuff ranging fr updating one another what we are doing now and catching up on jc days! we even arranged to meet up for karaoke in october! cant wait :))

the babes: michelle, shuhui, viv

the tai tais: cycy n karen

andy and huiying

the yans & me: liyan, ziyan n me

me, rachel & wanting

mini gathering

had a mini get together with hani n nurul aft work on thur. went over to tcc @ boat quay. the atmosphere was really nice and it was a nice place to hang around except: food variety not my cup of tea, dessert selection ltd, cant take picz (coz its concept is art gallery for local artiste so sorta selling their paintings so cant take picz)and i'm not dressed properly (they had low tables and bean bags for people to hang ard but me wearing skirt can take off stinko shoes ;p... plus points, nice place to rot, coffee variety ok (abit ex), cakes (affordable)

hani & nurul

wandered off to camwhore by the river after dinner. took over 50picz just to get some nice shots n chit chat at the same time. walked to the bridge in front of fullerton for more camwhoring ;p vowed to dress up as taitais n go fullerton one day for high tea!!

a non shaky nite shot of fullerton

thot we wun hv much to talk abt aft sec sch but had fun juz casually chatting about anything and making plans to go overseas together!! tentatively shortlisted bangkok (they would have to join the line of people who have already express interest in going with me on my annual pilgrimage next yr though ;p, phuket, KL and bali (which i wld love to go after more than 10yrs fr my last trip). are planning other stuff like makan session at nurul's hse all the way up north n shopping trip to jb.

me & nurul

it felt like the girly sch days all over again. we were laughing so much and making so much noise that we must hv traumatised some tourist ;p hope to meet up with them soon!

on the bridge~
