random events
lunch with ex-tpl tomodachi

met up with eva, tiffy n jiayi @ bugis for a gathering for the bunch of us who left the company. actually planned to go eva's hse for steamboat but her neighbour renovating so abit noisy. angelia sick so couldnt join us. had lunch at ajitei bugis (this other restaurant ajisen opened which previously nvr tried b4 except for dessert which was so-so, coz the place ventilation not very gd, hate smelling like food aft meal ;p)...

order a whole bunch of things which came very fast, maybe coz of the odd hr we went there, ard 3plus. food was amazing nice compared to the so-so overpriced dessert i tasted previously. hung around bugis junction n later bugis st for some shop shop aft dinner.

father's day cum sending matt off @ airport

made reservations @ crystal jade @ t2 last sunday so that can celebrate fathers' day cum send matt off for his airforce training in aussie. tis is juz the initial stage, whether he can stay on depends on this 1mth plus coz the elimination rate veri high, maybe out of the 7 of them going, onli 1 or 2 can pass so hope matt can beat them all even though he the oldest amongst the bunch.

apparently reservations had little use at places like crystal jade coz they dun actually reserve a table for u (i.e. those with "reserved" sign which no one can take), they'll juz allocate numbers when u reach so why the hack do they let pple reserve for. amazing crowded on fathers' day even though itz at the airport, there were queues at all the restaurant. food ok but proportion abit small though. had hoped to eat dim-sum but dinner dun hv...

we were there kinda early so by the time we finished at 9plus, we realised we had to wait till 11.30pm coz his flight was actually 1.20am. went jalan jalan at supermkt n eventually ended up at starbucks to rot at their sofa till times up.

no particular festival but mum juz felt like going there to pray so tagged along... happen to see this procession of the deities, apparently, the deities from other temples come out of their own temple to visit the other temples once in a while, when i mean come out, doesn't mean they bring the actual statues out but the deities will possess on these mediums/devotees and go round.

was supposed to be looking at the ceremony n stuff but got abit distracted by the lovely sunset so decided to focus more on the sunset coz might be one of the last chances since the temple will shift fr this scenic location inwards by aug. so sad coz the view's great n the openess allows the sea breeze to cool the whole place down. so difficult to find temples right beside the sea with all our reclamation going on.

bought a bottle of new perfume, guess by who? chupa chups!! (the ones who brought u ur favourite childhood lolly).. quite mild but there's some sorta sweet candy smell dat lingers (or could it be my imagination coz of the brand :P)

accidentally found out abt this competition on mr brown's website, it's called "britain's got talent". thought it was just another idol contest but the winner turned out to be truly talented and his journey is kinda inspirational. fr the average joe working next to you with an unknown talent to a star. never under estimate those around you.

rainbow

after a horrid day of long meeting consisting of senile irritating pple, it was nice to spot a rainbow esp aft not seeing one for so many yrs... too bad i didnt had my cammy with me so had to make do with my hp ;)

issit my imagination but there seems to be 2 rainbows! :P

updates... didnt realised how long i didn't update my blog till i saw the last blog entry ;p

vesak day 30/05/07

started work juz one mth got ph oredi, so happi. had a nice vesak day tis yr that is excluding the starving part in the nite coz couldn't find vegetarian fd at the new harry potter like foodcourt @ suntec. went there with dad to catch the bkfair n IT show. ended up having toast n went hm to cook pasta with wateva i could find at home ;p

woke up early to go to these four-faced buddha temple @ bedok area. pretty nice atmosphere plus architecture of the temple made one feel as if u r in thailand. actually there were a lot of thais who went there dat day. lotsa pple queued up to get blessings fr the monks there including us nn we actually queued twice coz there were 2 monks. actually had been there many yrs b4 but the whole place looked totally different n much bigger. hung round to take picz n found out they were serving delicious vegetarian bee hoon n samosa at the back which turned out to be our brunch.

later in the afternoon went to the bkfair as i always do every yr. saw my ex-colleagues fr the chinese bk division there. was so happy to find the taiwanese japanese language bk publisher there after missing them for a few years but didnt buy much bks even though they were really cheap coz i oredi had a bunch of them which i haven't touch yet ;p.. managed to get a couple of pocket sudoku bks which are normally quite ex elsewhere.

as for the pc show, onli went thru one round coz actually didnt have anything in mind to buy n dad couldnt tahan the crowd.

went with rachel to cafe del mar for the mypaper scream party 07 which i won tickets for last fri. luckily we're dismissed early @ 5.30 so i had plenty of them to hv dinner @ vivo b4 going over to sentosa for the concert.

took the new sentosa express fr vivo there. price was ok $3 to n fro plus entrance. realised sentosa had changed quite alot since i last brought grandma there when she came over fr m'sia. the whole coastline n beach area changed beyond recognition that rachel n i swore to plan n go over there one day to explore.

we thot we were late when we reached ard 7.30 coz the ticks say it'll start @ 7 but were pretty surprised we were still amongst the early birds coz we got free beer voucher which we didn't use anyway. cafe del mar didnt turned out to be as nice as expected but tink it was coz of the concert that the whole atmosphere n layout of the place was changed so we didnt quite get to experience the "real" cafe del mar? managed to find a great seat b4 b4 the concert started at the back far from the crowd n spot lights but in front of a huge projector so that we could actually see everything. turned out pretty nice coz got to see gary chao ge, soda green n ah qing fr f.i.r perform. got to see soda green for the first time n the whole band was really good overall, came esp for them coz wanted to hear them sing "xiao qing ge" (little love song). gary was really charismatic as a performer in real life.

the concert ended kinda earlier than expected @ 10plus thus leaving us with plenty of time to get back to the mainland n catch the last few train hm b4 midnite.
