nothing much lately...
dun hv much to blog abt lately coz was sick for 2 wks so most of the time spent working n staying in at home. didnt even go out much during wkends except for my neighbourhood so maybe saved a little $$ ;p...
the onli "interesting" thing was me scolding a stupid malay guy from civil defence on the bus on my way to work on tues. this guy wld blast his handphone's mp3 once he gets on board of the bus and volume is so loud that the whole bus would be able to hear it. the worst part is his choice of music!! juz when u thot u can catch a nap on the bus to work, this idiots blasts completely bengish euro techno music on board n for up to 3/4 of ur journey!!
met him earlier on but as the bus was pretty crowded n he was sitting quite far apart, could get him to shut up. h/r on tues, i was onli 2 seats away n i waited till there was alot of pple ard (so that he wld feel the shame) n got up to shout at him to lower the volume n that he was disturbing pple ard him. cant stand all those other pple who chose to keep quite n endure this esp since those ard were mostly guys n can see that they feel "disturbed" as well but chose to keep quiet.
told my other 2 colleagues who takes the same bus abt it they were surprised that i wasnt scared but i had nothing to lose coz i could easily recognise n pin point this guy coz he was from the civil defence unit (his uniform) at paya lebar n shld he decides to retaliate or something like that, i had to advantage of lodging a complaint against him ;p...
in middle of closing at this veri moment but veri bored with work so decided to blog. hope this wkend wld be more eventful coz going to bookfair, shopping n going to see cycy try out gowns at the studio on sun :)

chalet
went to angelia's (the gal in yellow sitted in front) 21st bday chalet yesterday despite being quite sick still (but didnt get to eat the food loh ;p)... reminded me of my 21st which seems like a million yrs away ;p...missed those days...
went aft dinner ard 8plus, considered early coz all the others planned to come onli ard 9plus. quite surprised so many pple were at pasir ris chalet and bbqing esp after the heavy down pour in the afternoon. stayed in the chalet itself to watch tv while waiting for the others from the office to turn up coz no many pple inside. onli shifted to the benches outside when the others gradually turned up. sat ard for a while n chit chat until the cake cutting ceremony aft which most of us started leaving.
decided to walk hm coz even if i took the bus, i wld hv to walk hm from the interchange as well. b4 dat, did some shopping at the chalet. yupz, juz when i thot hving stayed hm these past few days meant that i wld save $$. found some new shops which were still opened ard 10plus so popped in for a look. bought a jap drama, densha otoko, finally managed to find it coz heard fr my frens in jap last yr that it was really nice n hv been trying to find it. it was on sale too! also bought a really cute straw bag which i doubt i wld hv many ocassions to use but was really cheap n cute to resist ;p
my drama set n cute little straw bag :)

KL Trip

time to blog abt my trip...decided to get it done with even though i am pretty sick at the moment. got a sore throat which ended up with cough n flu etc. felt ozzy at work n couldnt really work for the whole day on thurs..
back to the trip...
our ride this time round turned out to be quite nice as it was one of those new double decker tour buses... got seats in the lower deck on the journey there. realised that there were no storage space above the seats like the normal tour buses so you had to either put ur luggage at your seat or out in the luggage compartment outside the bus. the height of the interior was also lower, i couldnt stand up straight or my head will hit the ceiling ;p
spent most of the time on board sleeping as both of us spent the night b4 watching the results show...

reached KL and checked into the hotel ard 2pm ahead of schedule. the hotel room turned out to be really nice, well as compared to those we stayed in bangkok, but the rooms seems to be really small compared to the the bangkok hotels. promptly abandoned our luggages to get on with our shopping even though the bed looks really inviting ;p

our hotel room
the street outside our hotel was bustling with activities, i.e. the street was filled with restuarants and esp massage parlors...1st stop, sungei wang. itz pretty much like far east plaza. spent the rest of the day there that we forgot to have dinner. prob coz we had a late lunch at kfc. they had this mushroom chicken chop which turned out to be a piece of original flavoured chicken chop with shrooms burger sauce. ended up at a noodles restuarant opp our hotel for dinner ard 10plus. we were behind "schedule", was supposed to visit times sq & lot 10 as well and visit the hawker street nearby our hotel. slept ard 12plus coz rachel had prob sleeping so early so chit chat abt jc days ;p
tea break at bubble tea restaurant at sungei wang
my buys on day 1 rachel's buys (notice her hands? had her manicure down for RM40 and the design was actually air burshed on by a printer instead of manually painted on)

day 2 began ar 8plus, onli went down for breakfast ard 9.30 coz both of us were lazy to get up. as it was the off peak period, the dining area was rather sparse so we didnt have prob finding seats and queue up much for food. started out to lot 10 coz rachel wanna take a look but the shoppings were barely opened and mostly filled with upmarket shops that u would find in sg so left for times square instead. h/r shops there were mostly closed even though it was oredi 11plus so decided to bring rachel up to take a look at the amusement park. went ard taking pics and gradually the shops opened so got to do some shopping.

hole in the tree amusement park
after we are done with times sq, popped on the monorail to change to a ktm to pasar seni which is adjacent to jalan petaling. wondered up n down the streets but couldnt find much to buy as the stalls were mostly selling counterfeited branded goods. didnt even manage to find the cute cheap watches i bought the previous trip. had noodles at a stall behind the famous longan drink stall as recommended by a colleague but the standard was only so-so. were kinda tired so decided to pop over to my aunt's place early even though we only planned for them to come pick us up for supper at 10pm. aunt n cousin picked us up at kepong as usual. went over to her hse n later selayang mall b4 proceeding to more noodles at the bakuteh stall. were later dropped off at the hotel. proceeded to packing up n tv watching and slept onli ard 1 plus again...
my buys on day 2 rachel's buys
woke up ard the same time the next day n since we had little time till our transport pick us up ard 2plus, went back to sungei wang for some last min shopping. checked our luggage out early b4 going out... rachel managed to get some last min buys though. went back to hotel ard 2 and hung out at the lobby while waiting for our bus to pick us up. bus came promptly and realised that it was the same driver and same bus which we took on the way there. we got to sit on the upper deck this time round but it didnt turned out to be as nice as expected as 1stly the stairs were really narrow n steep and it was more wobbly n shakey upstairs. worst, there was a horrid couple, an ang moh n his chinese gf (no idea which ctry she's from). the lady adjusted her seat all the way down without even considering the welfare of the person sitting behind her and even proceeded to putting her legs high up onto the seat in front of her. irritating.
reached customs ard 8 and mum n dad picked us up from beach rd at 9plus.

back to sg
reached beach road ard 9 plus yesterday nite. mum n dad came to pick me n rachel up at beach road... by the time we dropped her off n reached hm, it was already 10plus...
feel veri tired n sleepy today coz as always, didnt wanna take an extra day off n waste leave ;p.. so had to wake up at 6plus to go work while rachel slept in till 2PM!!! could barely keep my eyes open the whole day n hardly did much work...tink getting sore throat as well coz haven been sleeping enough these few nites, i.e. sat watch election results till 2plus then sleep, last 2 nites in kl slept ard 12plus/1plus coz rachel cant sleep so ended up chatting n yesterday slept ard 12plus. must be too "heaty" liao. weather over m'sia was terribly hot last 2 days too but it was raining most of the journey back to sg.
tink will onli blog abt trip during this long weekend instead...

abt kl trip tomolo...
so fast going kl tomolo... things mostly packed but not fully yet coz busy watching elections results at the moment :P... also trying to charge the batteries, mp3 player etc...
abt rallies...
went for some last min rallies on thurs n fri, the former coz it was for my grc and site was veri near my home so rode my bike down to take a look...the latter went down with my parents n colleagues. my parents went down early ard 5 to "chope" seats for us in the covered stands so we got pretty gd seats n didnt need to squeeze with the crowds below... towards the middle of the rally, the stadium was at itz full capacity and the road n carpark ard the stadium was full of pple peering through the fence into the stadium. 2 riot police buses were also despatched to the rally site. the atmosphere was really great. there were supporters who came with all sorts of banners, flags etc etc and each time one of these pple appeared, the crowds wld cheer them on and let them squeeze all the way to the front :P
when the rally ended, the crowds had prob getting out using the few small exits so those like us who couldnt get out stayed put n cheer and shout instead coz it wasnt veri often u could shout n cheered freely, once every 5yrs. got bored when the crowded quieten so like some of the others, i would start shouting once in a while n this got the crowds cheering again. really had fun!! even accidentally got a reporters attn and wanted to interview me n my parents but was declined :P
abt 1st time voting...
went downstairs to the pri sch nearby to vote for the veri 1st time. there was a walk over the previous time round when i hit 21 dat yr so get to vote onli when i'm so old ;p... waited for mum to return hm fr work whilst dad n bros went ahead earlier ard 12... no much pple there ard the time we went at 4plus as according to the news, the ks crowd went earlier than 8am the official polling time to q up to vote... not as exciting to vote as expected and the voting booth was metalic this time round n it didn't seem as enclosed as the booth last time so tink one may feel abit "insecure" if there were many pple ard... took he whole process lasted then 5 min.
well dats abt all, back to the results show n cheering..supposed to go to bed early coz taking a bus really early tomolo but still wanna watch the results show till the end...
will blog abt my trip when i get back... ja ne!

my labour day long wkend...
of rallies...
spent the past 3 evenings attending election rallies... attending rallies have brought me to places i've never been to or places which i have passed by but never really thought of going. in contrary to the rallies which i've been to as a kid which were mostly at open spaces in between blocks of flats where residents could look down from their flats, the rallies i've been to this yr are situated in much "secluded" area, the 1st a muddy field in the middle of an industrial estate, the 2nd, the infamous "white elephant" mrt stn which i've heard so much abt but nvr been to, the 3rd, an open field btw pte hsing and flats at an estate which i lived in in the past. if i were to follow all rallies, i wld probably be able to go to other parts in sg which i may not hv been b4 :P...
anyway going there weren't actually the problem. the major problem was dealing with the elements of nature.
day 1
planned to go down straight aft the work but the moment i stepped out of the office, it started pouring (eventually the lightning caused another rally to be cancelled but the others went ahead anyway)!!! didnt mind the rain but the worst part was the condition of the field which the rally was at, by the time the rally ended, both feet were covered with mud, nearly lost 1 slipper (luckily i changed in slippers which i had specially brought along, if not, there goes my new shoes :P), and my clothes were splattered with patches of mud (unfortunately due to my flip flops which splattered mud as high as my head...) in between the rally, had to worry abt bugs esp tiny flying cockroaches!!! saw there crawling all over the pple in front of me so had to keep swiping my back n head to double check whether there were any :P...
day 2
luckily no mud this time round but plenty of water and once again my feet were submerged in H2O...luckily, the venue was near an mrt stn so had some shelter and place to sit down occassionally..
day 3
though no rain, ground was still abit wet due to rain earlier on...but abit worried abt toilets coz was a huge open field so didnt dare to drink or eat too much ;p
went ard to check out wat the diff parties have to offer and to see how the new candidates actually were. am pretty impressed by some by slightly disappointed by some. could see how well prepared a certain party was and am pretty impressed by the results of their major "restructuring"... and if there is anyone who still commented that young pple didnt care abt the politics nowadays, they shd visit the rallies n see for themselves. moreover, i believe many were enjoying themselves as much i was by the humor some candidates possessed.
overall the atmosphere at the rallies felt like a big "carnival", there were actually ice cream sellers, pple selling snacks etc... pple from all over sg were there despite of their constituencies or even whether they had to vote at all. n despite the serious topics which were touched on, there were lighter moments, such as when an indian candidate spoke in tamil, all others couldnt understand but judging from the tones of his speech, there crowds cheered him on at times
when he sounded agitated or when his tone became harsh or serious. it would normally be followed by roars of laughter so everyone had fun. there would be a few more vocal audiences who would burst out one or comments which would cause an uproar of laughter across the crowd... am especially overwhelmed by the support the crowd showed when they were sending the candidates off at the 1st rallies, chanting the party name n pouring into the side road where their vehicle were and blocking up the roads. (think the incident led to more authorities being dispatched to the subsequent rallies)..
dun think i'm going to any tonight though it has been an interesting n memorable experience, it was also a tiring one, having to stand long hours and must give my "weather beatened" feat a well deserved rest...
of my upcoming KL trip...
yupz, confirmed that i'll be going kl afterall, went early to beach road with rachel to find out the prices as well as make bookings for our trip. got a pretty gd bargain in the end as the particular hotel which we chose wa having promo so each pd onli $131 for hotel n return bus fare for 3d2n... have started planning where to go but doubt i wld have time to visit my relatives at all.
