fireworks festival 06
decided to go watch the fireworks display again today. went on the 1st day with my ex-jap class kakis but onli watched fr marina coz by the time we manage to find a place to hv dinner n actually finished dinner, it was 8plus. luckily there was a open air platform outside the restaurant so we could actually juz stand ard to watch. h/r the view there was blocked by a few tall trees n we couldnt really see the lower fireworks... didnt manage to take picz then coz had no tripod n no pt trying coz required to keep absolutely still when taking nite shots...
tried to get rachel to go but she was not feeling well and was lazy to go round finding pple as crazy as me who would go park myself on the bridge linking esplanade n the merlion for nearly 4hrs without moving ard n going to the loo ;p esplanade (day time)

went to city hall area to shop ard at 3plus b4 proceeding to find a place to park myself at 5plus... was hoping to get a good place maybe in the middle of the bridge or somewhere in front of esplanade for easy access. h/r the seats along the stretch in front of esplanade was fully taken up n there were families hving picnics... proceeded onto the bridge to find a spot to no avail until i nearly reached the other end where the merlion was. found an empty spot beside a rubbish bin ;p...parked myself next to family n sat on the floor in front of the railing... brought along mags, a novel and mp3 to entertain myself for the 3hrs... was abit paiseh to bring out my tripod coz there was one whole stretch of veri pro photographers with veri pro looking camera on veri pro looking tripods... swear i'm gonna get one of those when i can afford then even though i was nvr well versed in photography ;p.. didnt hv dinner coz was afraid i had to go to the loo...

linkway to merlion was block off for a pte function by the organisers, onli pple with invitation were allowed in by the time it got to 8plus, the group of us sitted were surrounded by others n the walkway on the whole bridge was packed. stood up ard 8.30 to position my tripod n cammy n stood till 9 coz the pple behind me kept closing up. show started quite promptly at 9... was busy trying to take pics most of the time n catch the show. unfortunately pics didnt turn out nice n sharp... must really get a new cammy!!
bum boats n ferry which were booked for the event. ard 10 of them gathered when the fireworks were abt to start
thot the 1st show by team italy seem nice coz there seemed to be more variety n bigger fireworks... but anyway, was there to experience the atmosphere...

finale (horrid shot, i know) after the show, was trapped on the bridge for nearly an hr n it took me an hr plus plus to get to the mrt fr the bridge! halfway thru decided to go to the loo coz citylink was really jammed at the escalator near godiva... onli managed to reach hm ard 11plus ;p
