had our d&d early this yr last thurs... theme tis yr was national day, pretty lame rite?! had to either wear red & white or in ethnic costumes... decided not to be insane to turn up in half red n half white, chose a white cardi with red embroidery which i oredi had...
we were given 1hr early release. while some chose to go hm to change, we stayed behind to change in the office n touch up while waiting for our transport. the warehouse pple had arrange for a private bus to pick us up fr the office @ 6 thus saving us the trouble of getting there ourselves coz once again the committee managed to choose one of the most ulu places in sg ;p
thot we were early but b y the time we got there, most of the tables were taken up n we had abit of prob finding 2 tables. there 4 groups of pple fr each of the companies on stage playing some pre party early bird games when we reached. sat ard to chope seats fr my colleagues fr the other division.
everything started quite promptly at 7, dinner was buffet style, mostly western. not totally great but slightly better than last yr's... thot that the entertainment this yr was horrid coz they ended up spending much less on engaging event planning companies, onli 1 dj n 1 amature mc who couldnt bring the spirits up at all. tink our crazy drunk warehouse guys were the one who "entertained" the crowd instead... but one highlight was the lucky draw prizes were pretty gd this yr, cash prizes for top 3, heard it was 700 for 1st n 400 for 2nd... but my group didnt stay long enough for the draw coz everyone was trying to get hm coz there was work the next day. luckily our names were called in the end too ;p dinner
games were lame, 1st they had the singing competition whereby 2 tables were given the same national day songs such as count on me singapore, stand up for singapore etc... our group got rasa sayang. none of us except our malay colleague rina knew the tune for the whole song so we onli managed to sing the chorus while she sang solo for the other parts... obviously didnt win lah

camwhoring on stage :P the next was "the most..." games, i.e. the mc would not say what she actually wants but pple can volunteer to go on stage whereby she would annouce what she wants. for eg, she said she was looking for the "longest..."there were pple going on stage with ribbons, necklace etc but it turned out she wanted to find the one with the longest right index finger... lame rite? tink the last game was miss universe whereby guys are being dressed up n made up but we had gone off by then coz felt that it was getting quite cheesy n boring...
b4 we left, found one of my colleagues wasted in the toilet apparently for a veri long time. wasnt sure how long she was there by herself b4 someone found her. in the end they had to get 2 of the guys to come in to drag her out n one had to help n drive her car back to her hse for her.
