wedding dinner
went for a cousin's wedding dinner @ hotel intercontinental @ bugis with my family on sunday. went ard 6plus, wanted to go earlier to shop shop but the rest of the family dilly dally till 6plus...
was at the hotel by 6.50pm for the so called corktail reception, i.e. drinks n peanuts n potato chips while standing ard waiting to enter the ballroom. so boring coz dun really click with the paternal side of my family. no where to sit down some more so had to stand ard till 7.30 plus when the doors opened.
it turned out that whoever planned the sitting arrangement was pretty brainless coz all our relatives from the paternal side were spread out with the groom's maternal side of the family. as u can see from the pic below, i was sitting at table in the corner with my family. bride n groom n parents at table A, groom's bro's in-laws (2 families) @ table B. the little pink dots rep relatives we know. youngest uncle n family n youngest aunt's children @ table 1, 4th uncle's family @ table 2, 2nd uncle n son as well as dad's cousin's son @ table 3, elder aunt's son, gf n sis @ table 4.
logically, any idiot would group relatives who know each other together rite?! apparently, the other family seated with us had other ralatives at tables at the back n they had to go ard to other tables in order to socialise with their own relatives. however, instead of placing the 24 of us into 2 and a half tables, they mixed us up with other pple in 5 diff places. to think that my parents had originally planned to chit chat with the relatives during dinner. wat the F***??!! brainless pple....
food was onli not impressive @ all, normal dishes which came in such itsy bitsy proportion that barely filled our stomachs, was still abit hungry at the end n my bro even resorted to eating leftover mee goreng which dad tah bao back fr their buffet earlier in the morning during the tea ceremony. i would rather trade the service, i.e. kept changing plates n glasses, for better quality food ;p.
onli consolation during dinner was the funny video they showed that was filmed when the groom n his bros went to fetch the bride dat morning. showed how they were being sabo by the sistas. one of the bros who was a caucasian exclaimed "no more chinese weddings for me" after being forced to drink some unknown drink n having downed a bitter gourd n chilli padi... gave me some ideas how to sabo cycy's hubby during her wedding later in the yr.
another complain, the mc was pretty lame n to top this off, she/he's a butch (with a gf somemore). kept blocking our view coz from our end, the screen would be blocked by the mic stand and the mc who doesnt know how to get lost during video presentations ;p
